Corey Radford, Retired School Resource Officer (SRO) at Mayor Junior/Senior High School in the Mayor Unified School District, was selected as the “2026 Law Related Education Officer of the Year”! Corey Radford served as an SRO in Mayor under the School Safety Program from 2023-2025, where he served as a safety officer, mentor, and LRE educator. Former Officer Radford now serves his school as the Dean of Students and is working towards his principal certification. Former SRO Radford participated in the Foundation’s Mock Trial program and implemented LRE utilizing best practices on topics such as safe driving, bullying prevention, vaping and other drug awareness education. He also implemented education on careers in law enforcement and continues to serve his school’s football program. Corey Radford’s passion for education, expertise in law enforcement, and effective use of best practices have created powerful learning opportunities for his students enabling them to think critically, engage respectfully in civil discourse, and prepare for active civic participation in their school and community. His staff also benefit from his presence and professionalism, as he helps foster a safe environment for all. His approachable demeanor, patience, and kindness are felt throughout the school community and have helped positively bridge relationships between law enforcement and the community he serves. The Foundation appreciates former SRO Radford for contribution in furthering law related education and understanding of the role of law in our school communities!
