Angelica Abbey is a dedicated sixth-grade teacher in the Chandler Unified School District and has been recognized locally and nationally for her outstanding contributions to teaching. She was selected as one of 50 educators nationwide for the Walt Disney World 50 Teachers Celebration and was chosen by actress Busy Philipps, who featured her as one of ten outstanding educators during a national spotlight on exceptional teachers. Abbey has been honored as the Educator of the Year for her district and as the Veterans of Foreign Wars Teacher of the Year for the state of Arizona. Abbey is a recipient of the Fiesta Bowl Wishes for Teachers program and has been recognized by various entities, including the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Coyotes, Arizona Bar Foundation, Burch & Cracchiolo Law Firm, Arizona Public Service, Teachers Federal Credit Union, and Mountain America Credit Union.
Abbey holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University, a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University, an endorsement in middle grades English language arts, and is a National Board-Certified Teacher in early adolescence ELA. Abbey’s commitment to education extends beyond her classroom. As her school’s PTO President, Student Council Sponsor, and Social Media Manager, Abbey plays a vital role in supporting student leaders and fostering strong relationships between families, staff, and the community. As an educator, Abbey believes in instilling a love of learning in her students. She strives to create meaningful connections with her sixth graders and sets high expectations for their academic growth.
