Position: Secondary Social Studies Content Specialist

Nancie Lindblom, the 2013 Arizona Teacher of the Year, is entering her twenty-eighth year as a public school educator. She is proud to take on a new role this year as the secondary social studies content specialist in the Mesa Unified School District. She has been involved with law related education for the last 11 years as a teacher for the Center for Civic Educations “We the People” program. Nancie’s classes have won the Arizona State title four times and have competed at the National competition placing as high as 5th place. Nancie graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in social studies education and completed her master’s degree in American History and Government in 2014 from Ashland University. She is dedicated to the field of education and helping other teachers as a member of the Arizona and National Council for Social Studies and as a past President of the Arizona Council for History Education. Nancie has been honored for her work by the Gilder Lehrman Institute, James Madison Foundation, National Education Association Foundation, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Lowell Milken Foundation.
