Position: Managing Director of Community Partnerships

Tina Ochoa is a passionate servant leader, dedicated to educational equity and family & community engagement. She brings over 15 years of experience leading innovative and transformative initiatives aimed at enhancing the educational achievement of underserved and marginalized students spanning the K-13 continuum.

In her current capacity as Managing Director of Community Partnerships, for Citizen Schools, Tina brings a wealth of experiences garnered through her multifaceted roles within statewide and national organizations. Her extensive responsibilities have encompassed: strategic and operational leadership; fund development; creation and design of culturally relevant curriculum, resources, and training; program administration and expansion; staff management and development; fostering collaboration among schools, districts, families and communities; serving as a juvenile probation officer with the Arizona School Safety program; and social justice and equity advocacy. 

Tina’s professional journey has included management and leadership positions with non-profit and state organizations including the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education (AZFLSE), the Center for Civic Education, the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence, and Families In Schools. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona and has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Sociology. Tina attributes her love for facilitation, curriculum and program development to her time with the AZFLSE and is thrilled to rejoin the training faculty for the 2023-24 school year. She is especially thrilled to be co-facilitating the CSI: Forensic Science 101 Academy that she co-developed with Commander Ed DeCastro during her tenure with the AZFLSE.
