Harriet Galbreath is a Juvenile probation officer with the Maricopa County Juvenile Probation Department. She has been a probation officer for 24 years. Currently, she is the Field Probation Supervisor for Juvenile Probation where she oversees probation officer supervision in the community. Besides supervising in the field, she facilitates several trainings for officers in the areas of cultural competence, ethics, evidence-based practices, and new officer training. Prior to that, she worked as the Staff Development and Training supervisor for 7 years. Harriet was a School Probation Officer assigned to Westview High School in Avondale for 5 years and was very involved in extra-curricular activities. She was the sponsor for several clubs including Teen Court, Black Student Union, and Peer Leadership. She also worked as a resource officer for the Tolleson Union High School District for 6 years in which she taught law related education and ran cognitive intervention groups at the alternative school. She received her B.S. in Justice Studies from Arizona State University and her M.Ed. in Counseling from Northern Arizona University. She is pursuing her doctorate in Psychology at Grand Canyon University.
