Mesa Public Schools

Terri currently teaches American history in Mesa Public Schools and serves as a Faculty Associate for Arizona State University teaching social studies methods courses for the History Department. She received her B.S.Ed. from Illinois State University and her M.Ed. from NAU. While devoting the past 30 years of her career to education, Terri has been afforded many opportunities to enhance social studies education in Arizona. Before her position at Dobson High School in Mesa, she served as the district Secondary Social Studies Specialist for 17 years and taught at Rhodes Junior High in Mesa for 13 years. She successfully implemented the Project Citizen program with her students at Rhodes.

Terri has been with the Foundation for the past 17 years as a facilitator for the iCivics AZ, Project Citizen, Kids Voting AZ, and Representative Democracy in America programs. In addition, she has served as District Coordinator and Technical Assistance Coordinator for Project Citizen, helped organize district and state showcases, and spent extensive time encouraging teachers to implement civics programs across the state. Terri has presented at multiple local, state, and national conferences and served as a lead facilitator for several summer institutes, including the recent national Project Citizen Research Program. She looks forward to continuing her efforts in supporting teachers in social studies.
